An incredible experience and stay. The David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa is something of a Zambian icon, and I was drawn to it for both its name and association with the location, on on the recommendation of colleagues both in country and at home. The service was attentive without overstepping, and every member of staff was courteous, friendly, and genuine. They attempted to help with all matters, including contacting third parties. From arranging airport transfers to day trips, or chasing connections that were late, it felt no aspect was too much to ask. The room was incredibly comfortable and beautifully appointed. After two weeks in volunteer camps, it was absolute luxury. My only note was I found both the refrigerator and air con units quite loud and a little intrusive into a good night’s sleep. Food at both the bar and restaurant were of excellent quality, and the terrace bar especially offered excellent value without compromising on quality. However, on two nights of my stay, the only option was a buffet - and I found this very expensive with limited options. I know these appeal to Americans and offer great value if you eat enough - but I found it hard to get competitive value. It was disappointing not to have other options available given little else is accessible nearby. However, if you are eating on the terrace, I can heartily recommend the native freshwater crayfish. They were incredible. And in the restaurant, the game roast (Kudu) was also excellent. I did have to ask for my room to be turned down twice during my stay - but this was actioned very quickly and with apologies. The other thing of note is the sundowner cruise. This was an excellent experience but offers the best value to those who drink alcohol. For me, where one such drink is enough, other experiences may have been better suited on reflection - and these can be arranged and discussed through Wild Horizons on their office in the lobby. Again, I can heartily recommend them. The infinity swimming pool was a special place to watch sunsets over the river, as well as a great place to cool off that never got too crowded. Evening swims are not recommended though due to the proximity of the river and potential wildlife. Overall wonderful!

Lovely and quite place after 3 week of sand and dust Very nice and welcoming hotel. We were 4, including 2 young children. The pool is small but beautiful, the sunset seen directly on the river is extraordinary, excellent breakfast and staff always present and attentive. The room was very clean. The hotel is quiet and not noisy at all. It is located right at the entrance to the national park where you can see rhinos. Obviously protected. Perhaps the only criticism is that the reception pushes a lot to follow organized trips, even though we explained them we were totally independent. Even seeing the Victoria Falls from Zimbabwe is simple, and does not require any help. Obviously if you are a bit smart.. But with the children aged 3 and 7 years, we were independently in Mana Pool (Zimbabwe), South Luangwa and Kafue (Zambia) and Chobe (Botswana). However, I would like to point out that we took advantage of a promotion on the price of the room from booking.com. If we had paid full price it would have been impossible for us to stay

The staff were super helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend taking the sunset cruise and coordinating your excursions with their onsite concierge.

My Stay It was my first time to stay at this water front lodge and spa. Nice people, friendly staff, you can barely hear them working, which is very good because it doesn't break the serenity or ambience of the place. I liked most things and got used to the mosquitoes. The slight setback was little variety in their meals, understandably the cost of living and inflation are pretty hight at the moment, and we have an energy crisis, but management needs to consider looking into this. No need for me to eat the same things I have left at home and cooked in similar style and pay at the given rates. The view from the room and decks is very lovely. The lodge seemed very eco friendly to me, which I liked a lot. The design and decor of the place are lovely, nice artwork decorating the walls. I liked the fact that it is very quiet place, and staff are on hand to assist with whatever you need.

My Stay at David Livingstone Safari A very beautiful environment with very friendly and helpful staff. The staff are innovative and always listen to the client's expectations rather than the 'default no' you get in other hotels whenever you ask for adjustments.
